Humans don't have an effect on climate different to anything that happens naturally; rather humans influence climate by contributing or making changes to the natural process that affect climate. Consider the four main influences outlined on the Natural Influences on Climate page.

One thing to note is that sustainable forestry can actually reduce carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere. Young trees that are growing extract more carbon from the atmosphere than older trees. Once mature, the carbon that's "locked in" to the older trees can be stored by being used as building materials (and other applications where the wood isn't burnt). Replanted trees then absorb more carbon as they grow compared to leaving the old trees in place (providing the whole volume of logged trees are replaced).
Atmospheric GasesMuch of the impact of human activity on climate change is through the contribution of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere.
